Our Story
Christ Community Church, formerly known as West Park Church, has been a presence in West Philadelphia since 1973. Founded by Rev. Marcellus Martin and Eunice Martin, our church continues to build on a legacy of faith and faithful service to God and His people.
From 1998 to 2022, Pastor Terry Davis served as Lead Pastor, ministering alongside his wife, Pastor Pam Davis. Building on the foundation laid by our founding pastors, Pastor Terry firmly established the church in love, unity, and God’s Word—commitments that continue to shape who we are today. Pastors Terry and Pam now serve as Apostolic Leaders, bringing spiritual wisdom, encouragement, and a wealth of leadership experience to strengthen the church and its leaders.
In 2022, Pastor Ernest Daniels Jr. was installed as Lead Pastor, with his wife, Sharon, serving alongside him in ministry. Raised and discipled at Christ Community, Pastor Ernest now has the privilege of leading the same church that helped shape his faith.
Located in the heart of University City, we believe God has placed us here with a purpose—to be a place where people encounter Jesus, grow in His likeness, and are equipped to make Him known. We gather to scatter—coming together to worship, grow, and be equipped so we can carry the love and hope of Jesus into our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and wherever God sends us.
Our Pastors
Pastor Ernest Daniels Jr. serves as the Lead Pastor of Christ Community Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Alongside his wife, Pastor Sharon Daniels, he is committed to helping people know God, grow in the likeness of Jesus, and make Him known wherever He sends them. Together, they share a deep love for God’s Word and a heart for helping people experience the love and freedom found in Christ.
With more than 20 years of ministry experience, Pastor Ernest’s leadership is rooted in a personal connection to the church he now has the privilege of serving. Raised and discipled at Christ Community Church, his journey reflects the power of faithful discipleship and God’s work across generations. He holds a doctorate in Christian Counseling and is passionate about teaching Scripture in ways that inspire faith, bring clarity, and help people live out what they believe.
Together, Pastors Ernest and Sharon desire to build a church where people are welcomed, families are strengthened, and believers are equipped to serve with purpose. Their heart is to see people grow in their relationship with Christ and carry His hope into their homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.
They live in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, and cherish time with their family: their son, Davier, and his wife, Amaris, and their daughters, Amanda and Kaitlyn.
